Grey’s Anatomy. We’ve all heard about it, haven’t we? But, since you’re reading this, I can only conclude that you are still on the fence about whether you should binge-watch it or not. Well, I’ll make it easy for ya- watch it. No, seriously, watch it.
I was super skeptical about starting Grey’s Anatomy too. I had heard mixed reviews- some of my friends claimed it to be one of the best drama TV shows made and others dubbed it as being ‘too far-fetched’ or ‘over dramatic’. After putting it off for too long, I ran out of good tv shows to watch and I finally decided to give it a shot. And here’s what I think.
EPISODE 1- A HARD DAY’S NIGHT
It is really, really good. So far.
The first episode kicks off with Meredith starting her first day as an intern in Seattle Grace, a prestigious hospital. We are introduced to a couple of new interns who instantly become the viewer’s favourites.
Christina Yang (Sandra Oh), Izzie Stevens (Katherine Hiegl) and George O’ Malley (T R Knight) become fast friends- each one with their own histories and problems, but united by their experiences as interns. We also meet for the very first time other attending doctors, residents and nurses who continue to play an important role in the lives of Meredith Grey and the other interns.
The first episode had me hooked. It exposed me to the life of surgeons and hospitals, how the gears turns and how a hospital manages to functions when it seems to be teeming with choas all the time. The stressful and sleepless lives the interns endure during their time and struggles, both physical and emotional, that they undergo is amazingly performed by the cast and very well written and directed.
Not to mention, there is so. much. drama. Which, if anything, makes the show even better.
Will keep you posted about the upcoming episodes!
